Motherhood is one of the most fulfilling life journeys for a woman. However, feeling this can also be tiring, when you have the responsibility as a mother to care for your child and husband. What happens if you become a mother and still choose to work at the office?

As a mother who works full time outside the home, you may feel very tired physically and emotionally. There are so many things fighting over your time and attention throughout the day that make you more likely to feel inadequate in any role, at home, or at work.

If you have chosen a career as a mother, even though the balance of your life in the family and work is difficult, you will try to enable yourself to do it. Here are some strategies that can help you maintain your career as a mother.

Respect Your Decision

If a career is important to you, you need to respect your decisions. If you are someone who must continue working for financial reasons, respect the fact that you are doing this because this is what you need to do. Do what do you think is best for your family.

Avoid comparing your schedule with mothers who have free time to take care of their children full-time. You can focus more on your child. You can ask what is important for and your child’s needs. Instead of letting those negative thoughts and guilt in, focus on all the wonderful things you will show your child and family.

Be There on The Right Time

After work, when you are at home, make sure your presence is truly at home, body, and mind. Put down the cellphone and eliminate thoughts of your work (unless it is really urgent) and spend time playing with children. You can play, discuss, or guide them through homework.

Make routine activities for your family every day, for example having dinner with your family every 7 pm. Children will be happy when they feel your presence and you will feel the same way to make full use of the time you have with your family. Work is not a barrier to being together with your family.

Spend Time Wisely

Sometimes there does not seem to be enough time in the day. You feel that there are so many things that you have not done every day. Another important thing you need to do is say no to less important activities and focus on what is important. Focus on activities that are important, such as your office work while at the office and spending time with your family when you are at home.

There are many things you need to reduce when you decide to have a career as a mother. For example, you spend less time hanging out with friends. Previously, you had a regular schedule to meet every week. After having children during your career, you decide not to follow this routine anymore. Spend your time wisely as a career mother.

Enjoy the Process

When you enjoy the process that you went through as a career mother, you will feel pleasure when you are able to go through with feelings of happiness.

You can also do at least one fun thing every weekend (alone or with your family) that will please you as a mother. That way, you will start your workweek refreshed, look after your child and husband, and enjoy this process every day.

The most important thing is to accept and respect the decision you have chosen with a happy heart. Even though in the process you find many imperfections, you know you also have fun and adventurous moments. Life will be beautiful when you pass it with joy. Keep the spirit of yourself, career mom!
